Signature : Oumi Kami Hojyoji Tachibana Masahiro (first generation)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saki)
This sword Oumi Kami Ho-jyoji Tachibana Masahiro first generation belongs to jyojyo saki ranking.

Shinto : Jyosaku ranking : Wazamono cutting test ranking : Musashi.
The blade was polished
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki
Blade length : 29.0 cm or 1.14 inches.
Sori : 0.6 cm or 0.23 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.17 cm or 1.24 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Edo period Kanbun era.
Shape : The Tanto is unusual Shobu Zukuri style wide and thick healthy blade.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with Jinie attached. It is nice texture.
Hamon : Niedeki with thick Nioikuchi Notare Hamon with soft feeling Habuchi and fat Ashi.

Special feature : Oumi Kami Ho-jyoji Tachibana Masahiro is called Takigawa and born at Tajima province.
He moved to Edo and made many swords and educated many famous sword smiths like Yoshitsugu, Sadakuni and so on.
He must be connected with Kotetsu because his subject is very similar with Kotetsu.
Some swords is almost same as Kotetsu blades with bright hamon.
At that time, very few tantos were made after the Muromachi period.
So If you find Tanto in Shinto period, it is very precious.
Like this Tanto is unusual Shobu Zukuri style and made nice Hamon on the canvas of the Tanto is excellent work.
This Tanto is collector's item.The blade is healthy without Kizu.
