Wakizashi: Kinmichi first generation

Wakizashi in Shirasaya with Koshirae(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper)

Signature : Kinmichi first generation.

Shinto:Jyosaku ranking:Wazamono cutting test ranking:Yamashiro province.

The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki:Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 33.92 cm or 13.35 inches.
Sori : 3.03 cm or 1.19 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.67 cm or 1.05 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.
Era : Edo period Keicyo era.
Shape : The blade is double hi on both sides of the blade.
The blade is rather wide and longer with sori nice looking Keicyo style.
Jitetsu : Itame had quite well grained with jinie attach wit chikei work marvelous visible to see the texture well.
Hamon : Niedeki gunome midair both sides are almost same hamon.
Boshi is round shape and turns back.

Special feature : At a glance, the blade looks like Muramasa because the Hamon both sides are sama and jigane.
The Jigane is wonderful texture.
Kanemichi(kinmichi) is a son of the Kanemichi who moved to Kyoto from Mino province with his sons Rai Kinmichi,
Tanba Kami Yoshimichi and Eccyu zkami Masatoshi at Eiroku era.
At that place they made many swords and became head master of the sword smiths.
This Tanto is very similar with his father's and the subject is mixed up with good point of Mino and Kyo Yamasiro school.
The sword is elegant and marvelous Jigane.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : On the round shaped iron Tsuba some design are engraved open work.
On the mimi, iron born pappear which looks like Owari school.
Fuchikashira : On these syakudo nanako plate, some flowers are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Red and dark brown colored kawarinuri saya.

Menuki : A family crest is engraved by syakudo plate.
Kozuka : On the syakudo nanako plate, some plamt and ginko leaf are engraved with gold color.
