Wakizashi

Wakizashi : Mumei (Sue-Enju)

Katana in Shirasaya, with Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon Paper)

The blade was polished
Habaki: Silver single foiled habaki
Blade length : 44.2cm or 17.4inches.
Sori : 0.65 cm or 0.26inches.
Mekugi :1
Width at the hamachi : 2.83 cm or 1.12inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.3 cm or 0.9inches.
Kasane : 0.64 cm or 0.25inches.
Era : Early Muromachi period
Shape : Cut shorten piece with bohi engraved on both sides. It is wide
and thick nice shape katana. The boushi is long ended.
Jitetsu :Koitame had well grained with jinie attached. It is clear jigane.
There is a utsuri seen at some parts.
Hamon : Konie base suguha. Boushi round ended.

Special feature : Sue Enjyu has been the name during the Nanbokucho period
and from Muromachi period the school is called Sue Niou. This piece has expressed
the characteristics of Niou very well. There is nice jigane with some utsuri appearing.
Hamon is tight and nice too.

Koshirae :
Tsuba : Round shape iron Tsuba. signature: Tadatsugu.
Fuchikashira : Silver with Nanako.
Saya : Dark brown with red color Saya.
Menuki : Shakudo, Rabit is engraved.
