Wakizashi : Tsuda Echizen Kami Sukehiro/Enpo 7 Nen 2 Gatsuhi

Shinto:Saijyo saku ranking:Oowazamono cutting test ranking:Settsu province.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyojyo sakiuand regular saku)
This Tsuda Echizen Kami Sukehiro belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished by famous sword polisher.
Habaki : Silver double habaki.
Blade length : 52.4 cm or 20.62 inches.
Sori : 0.9 cm or 0.35 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.30 cm or 1.3 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.44 cm or 0.96 inches.
Kasane : 0.69 cm or 0.27 inches.
Weight : 580 grams.
Era : Edo period Enpo era.
Shape : The blade is wide(3,3cm) and thick with small spire Kanbun style healthy blade.
Jitetsu : Koitame had well grained with jinie attach and chikei work beautiful Oosaka jigane(texture).
Hamon : Niedeki with thiclk nioikuchi Doranba and oogunome midare with sunagashi, kinsuji work in Ha, Boshi is round shape with hakikake style.

Special feature : The Second Sukehiro forged this wakizashi.
Both the First and the Second Sukehiros are ranked very important position as saijyo saku among the Osaka-Shinto swordsmiths.
The Second Sukehiro served Aoyama Inaba (No) Suke Muneyoshi who was the lord of Komoro Castle in Shinshu province.
He was the Jodai of the Osaka Castle, a daimyo's chief councilor in charge of his master's castle since 1667.
Sukehiro the Sesond passed away in 1682. Second generation Sukehiro was born in 1637.
He became a adopted child of 1st generation Sukehiro who was well known as Soboro Sukehiro.
And he moved to Osaka. He was allowed to engrave the signature “Echizen no kami” in 1657.
And he started to serve Aoyama Munetoshi who was lord of Osaka castle.Sukehiro was the most skillful swordsmith in Osaka Shinto, as well as Inoue Shinkai.
Sukehiro and Inoue Shinkai made some swords together.
It is said that Sukehiro made over than 1700 swords.
This sword has typical Sukehiro hamon Yuki no Muragie hamon, It is wonderful piece of work.
The sword is quite well grained oosaka jigane and wonderful Doranba hamon.
Especially inside of the hamon is wildish sunagashi and Kinsuji work.
He changed to his name to Marutsuda(round shape signature) at Enpo 2nd which is the mostperfect succeeded quality blade.
The blade is slightly suriage and maxhiokuri but the blade itself perfect condition.
He passed away Tenna 2nd.

Koshirae : The condition of the Koshirae is very good.
Tsuba : On the Mokko style syakudo Tsuba, kick flowers are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : On the iron plate, shish dog and peony flowers are engraved with gold color.
Saya : Black isimeji saya. (perfect condition high quality)
Menuki : Some plant is engraved with gold color.
Kozuka : On the syakudo nanako plate, coal pit is engraved with gold color.
Kogatana : Bamboo.

Gurantee : NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper.
