Tanto in Shirasaya, with Koshirae.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Nobuyoshi belongs to Jyo saku ranking.

The blade was polished.
Blade length : 23.8 cm or 9.37 inches.
Sori : No Sori
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.24 cm or 0.88 inches.
Kasane : 0.65 cm or 0.25 inches.
Era : Middle Muromachi period.
Shape : It is regular width and thickness. Long Nakago nice shape tanto.
Jitetsu : Itame had awith mixture of Mokume hada. Well grained Jinie is attached.
There is clear Utsuri appearing on the Ji.
Hamon : Nie deki Suguha with Yo activity attached. Deep NIoiguchi Boshi turnes down deeply.

Special feature : Bishu Osafune Tadamitsu is one of the earliest sword smith of Sue Bizen school.
He is said to be the son of Norimitsu.
At that time, there were many active sword smith such as Katsumitsu, Munemitsu, HIkobe Sukesada.
There are many swords with Zokumyo but there is no much difference in the quality compared to sword without Zokumyo.
There are many sword smith with much signature
During Oei period, Morimitsu and Yasumitsu has leaded the school and the skills were descended to Tadamitsu and Norimitsu.
There are many swords with fine JIgane at that time.

Koshirae : Aikuchi Koshirae

Fuchikashira : Tsuno
Saya : Azuki reddish brown color saya.
Menuki : Copper plate with pattern engraved and inlaid with gold.
Kozuka : Shakudo nanakoji with Shi-Shi dog and peony design engraved and inlaid with gold.

Historical background: Big earthquake in MEio 7th year at Tokaido area ( Edo PeriodEdo-Kyoto Highway).
